About You : Kumar Mukherjee,son of the late footballer Kajal Mukherjee and Suvra Mukherjee,started learning the tabla at a tender age from Pandit Shankar Ghosh.Later started vocal music under the guidance of Smt.Sanjukta Ghosh.Ustad Munawar Ali Khansahib,son of the legendary Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khansahib took Kumar under his tutelage and from him Kumar imbibed the traits of the Kasur-Patiala Gharana.He has performed internationally and at almost all national level concerts that are worthy of mention.His performances have been widely appreciated.Kumar's schooling from La Martiniere for boys,Kolkata and subsequent college/university education from Jadavpur University make him stand apart from a number of his contemporaries.

Experience : Kumar has been teaching students since 1994 and many of his students are doing music seriously.They have taken it up as a profession and have sung for films etc.
